Play your PodVisit looking out over the Solent at Lepe - on the shore or on the grass embankment behind the car park.

Lepe is a great spot for time travel!  Discover what the view would have been like 70,000 years ago during the Ice Age, how the Romans and Cornish tin traders left their mark and why it's still such a haven for bird life.

WalkerWalking east from the car park will bring you to Stansore Point, beyond which are the concrete emplacements and moorings which serve as a reminder of Lepe's role in launching the D-Day Normandy landings during World War II.  Find out more with Wartime Lepe (15).

Walking in the other direction along the shoreline will take you past the old Coastguard watch house.
