Play your PodVisit at Stansore Point at Lepe - you'll see the remains of the concrete emplacements and moorings which were built to launch men and supplies for the D-Day invasion of Normandy in June 1944.

Tens of thousands of soldiers left from Lepe and other points along the South Coast, many would not return. There is a memorial to their sacrifice - a large anchor located on the grass embankment behind the shoreside car park.

WalkerWalking east from the car park will bring you to Stansore Point, beyond which are the concrete emplacements and moorings which serve as a reminder of Lepe's role in launching the D-Day Normandy landings during World War II.

Walking in the other direction along the shoreline will take you past the old Coastguard watch house.  Discover more about Lepe with Lepe through time (14).
