Play your PodVisit in the centre of the village of Burley at the Queen's Head public house.
It may seem like a normal New Forest pub today, but in years gone by it was one
of the places used by smugglers, or 'free traders' who illegally imported and sold contraband goods like tea and brandy to avoid paying the tax.
It was a dangerous game but the smugglers had help from a local girl called Lovey Warne who had some clever tricks up her sleeve.

To visit the iron age hill fort at Castle Hill (18) walk towards Burley Street along the Ringwood Road and follow the signs to Castle Hill via Castle Hill Lane along the top of the hill.
Castle Hill Lane also passes Burley Beacon (20) and you can walk further over to Church Moor (19)
You can also walk in the footsteps of the smugglers - from the Vales Moor car Park, the 'Smuggler's Road' path heads north towards Picket Plain.
