Play your PodVisit in the village of Buckler's Hard. The facing rows of terraced houses are far enough apart to let felled oak trees be rolled down to the
waterside where they were used to built warships for the Royal Navy in
the 18th and 19th centuries.
Let Master Shipbuilder Henry Adams will tell you about the village and some
of the 60 ships built here over the years.

The flat riverside path will take you the 3-4km to Beaulieu (09) passing a birdwatching hide at Keeping Marsh and other old shipbuilding sites - the Agamemnon Boatyard and Bailey's Hard.
This tidal stretch of the Beaulieu River (12) is part of the North Solent Nature Reserve.
