Play your PodVisit at the viewing platform located a short walk from the Bolderwood car park.

The fallow deer at Bolderwood are fed here every day from Easter until September.

There are also populations of red, roe and sika deer elsewhere and New Forest Deer (25) have contributed to the forest's eco-system and landscape.

WalkerThe viewing platform is a short walk from the car park and you can continue down the Bolderwood Arboretum Ornamental Drive to the Knightwood Oak (21).

Across the road, the Bolderwood walk loops through the woods and into the Highland Water Inclosure.

More information
  • There is a food available at Emery Down and there are numerous tea shops, cafes and restaurants in Lyndhurst, the nearest main village to Bolderwood.
  • Car parking is available at Bolderwood where there is also an information point and toilets.
  • The New Forest Museum and tourist information centre in the main village car park in Lyndhurst is well worth a visit.
  • Green Tips: As you can see around you, dead wood lying around the forest floor is a great resource for birds and insects - don't take any from the New Forest, but a pile of old wood left to decay will help attract wildlife to your garden.
  • Bolderwood is on the New Forest Cycle Network - using your bike saves pollution, eases conjestion and is good exercise. Leave your car at home and use the New Forest Tour bus (May - September).
