Play your PodVisit at Bolton's Bench - the small hill on the fringe of Lyndhurst off
the Southampton Road. 

The mound is thought to be an Iron Age burial mound and it has striking views over Mallard Wood and the lawns and heathland of western side of the New Forest.  It may be your first glimpse of the famous New Forest Ponies (08).

WalkerWalk into Lyndhurst and up the high street to visit the Parish Church (03) or Queen's House (04). Stop off at a tea shop or antiques store and call in at the New Forest Museum in the main car park. 

From Bolton's Bench, there are several paths extending out to the forest heath and woodlands - along the ridge beside the Beaulieu Road or into Mallard Wood.

  • Car parking is available in the village centre (pay and display) and at Bolton's Bench.

  • Help cut down on traffic conjestion in Lyndhurst.  The village is served by National Express coaches and Wilts and Dorset buses as well as the New Forest Tour bus (May - September).
