How do I download PodVisits onto my computer, MP3 Player or iPod?

Easy - to download a New Forest PodVisit MP3 audio guide, visit the individual webpage for the location you want (or the New Forest Tour page for all New Forest PodVisits) and click on download.

The MP3 files will download to your computer.  Transfer them with whatever software you use to load tracks onto your MP3 player.

You can also download all New Forest PodVisits using iTunes.

How much does it cost?

PodVisits are currently free to download for an introductory period.

Can I listen to a PodVisit before I download?

Yes - each webpage has a audioplayer - just press play to listen to the PodVisit on your computer.

Do I need broadband?

It helps but it's not absolutely essential.  Most PodVisits MP3 files are about 4-5 MB in size, so if you are on dial-up you will need to be patient to download them. We tell you the size of each file on the website so it should give you an idea of download time.

If you are using the audio and video players on the website using dial-up, you can wait for the bar to go across the screen and the audio and video to load before listening or viewing.

Do I need an iPod?

An Apple iPod is just one type of MP3 playing device.  You can play PodVisit MP3s on iPods or any portable MP3 player including many mobile phones.  Many MP3 devices can be played through in-car stereos via special adaptors.  You can also burn MP3 files onto an audio CD to listen to on a personal or in-car CD player.

Can I copy a PodVisit MP3 file?

You can copy a PodVisits MP3 file - onto an MP3 player or CD - for your own personal, non-commecial use.  PodVisit MP3 files must not be broadcast or published on another website. Read our full terms and conditions.

I can't hear the audio.

Check the volume controls on your computer.  If you can't hear the audioplayer on a webpage wait for the bar to go across the screen and the audio to load before listening.

I can't see the audioplayer or videoplayer.

The audio and video players on the PodVisits website need the Adobe Flash Player plugin to be installed.  Visit the Adobe site for details on how to install it.  You don't need it however, if you want to download the PodVisits MP3 audio.

Are there other locations of PodVisits, apart from the New Forest?

How do I print a page off the website?

Click on the little printer icon in the upper right hand corner of each webpage to view a print-friendly version of it. Then click on File, Print in the top left hand corner.
